This Public Safety Unit is designed to deliver information to designated staff working in any industry or workplace. It holds accreditation as an elective unit for people studying for a Certificate IV in Public Safety or for a Diploma in Public Safety. Under Emergency Response Category it is categorized as an “initial response” skill.

• Lead an Initial Workplace Emergency Response Team

This Public Safety Unit is designed to deliver information to designated staff who will be assuming a leadership role within the Emergency Control Organisation of an industry or
workplace. It holds accreditation as an elective unit for people studying for a Diploma in Public
Safety and for an Advanced Diploma in Public Safety. Under Emergency Response Category it is categorized as an “initial response” skill.

• Manage Workplace Emergency Initial Response Team

This Public Safety Unit is designed to deliver information to designated staff that will be assuming a management role within the initial emergency response team. It holds accreditation as an elective unit for people studying for an Advanced Diploma in Public Safety. Under Emergency Response Category it is categorized as an “evacuation” skill.

• Prevent Injury

This Public Safety Unit is designed to enable staff to competently identify, avoid, review and evaluate workplace risks and hazards.  It ensures staff can competently maintain personal safety and report to supervisors and team members.  This unit is accredited as an elective for persons studying for a Certificate II in Public Safety or it is a core unit for Certificate II in Public Safety and Certificate II in Public Safety under Emergency Response Category it is an “initial response” skill.
