Confined Space Training
What is involved in Confined Space Training? Personnel are trained to safely enter a confined space or a place accessible only though a confined space, such as tanks, underground vaults and sewers to perform a rescue or recovery of trapped victims. The danger with confined spaces are the lack of light and oxygen, or presence of harmful chemicals and vapours. There are 3 types of confined space rescue:
1. Self Rescue - a trapped person is able to exit the confined space themselves.
2. Non-entry Rescue - Using equipment to rescue the victim without another person entering the confined space.
3. Entry Rescue - The rescuer enters the confied space to attempt to perform the rescue.
Fire Evacuation Plan SA
A good fire evacuation plan is critical to the safety of those who are in any home or building for any amount of time, whether it be living, working or visiting. The Fire Evacuation Plan needs to be clear and concise for all to read and understand. All persons need to be made aware of the Fire Evacuation Plan and emergency evacuation procedures need to be included. In the event of a fire, a fire evacuation plan is sometimes turned to if it's safe to do so, but it should always be regularly read, understood and updated to ensure the best possible fire evacuation plan is implemented. Very clear fire exits should be included and shown on the fire evacuation plan to assist persons in the event of a fire and the need to evacuate a building.
